Until today, May 9, in Romanian territory, 15,131 cases of infected COVID-19 (coronavirus). Among confirmed positive people, 6,912 were declared cured and discharged.

At the same time, so far, 926 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection, hospitalized in Dolj, Bucharest, Iaşi, Suceava, Arad, Bacău, Timiş, Cluj, Neamţ, Hunedoara, Constanţa, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Ialomiţa, Bistriţa – Năsăud, Covasna, Dâmboviţa, Vrancea, Galaţi, Caraş-Severin, Mureş, Giurgiu, Bihor, Argeş, Vaslui, Botoşani, Alba, Sălaj, Braşov, Mehedinţi, Teleorman, Gorj, Prahova, Vâlcea, Călrami.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, 320 other new cases of the disease were registered.

In the Romanian territory, there are 14,323 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 20,462 people are in solitary confinement at home and under medical supervision.

To date, 248,056 tests have been processed nationwide.

In the last 24 hours, 410 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 1,252 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), specially opened to inform citizens.

Through the empowered structures of the M.A.I. So far 555 criminal cases have been drafted, under the aspect of committing the crime of frustrating the fight against diseases, a deed provided for and punished by art. 352 par. 1 Penal Code.

Police and gendarmes found, in the last 24 hours, 444 people who did not comply with the measure on traffic restrictions. These people were fined 390,000 lei.
We specify that until the publication in the Official Gazette of the decision of the Constitutional Court on the declaration of unconstitutionality of some provisions of the O.U.G. not. 34 of March 26, 2020 to amend and complement the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 1/1999 on the state of siege and the state of emergency regime, the current legal norm applies.

Since the entry into force of military ordinance no. 2 and so far, 2,284 people who have not observed the period of self-isolation have been placed in institutionalized quarantine. In addition, 198 people in quarantine left the place where they were located, for which the quarantine measure was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, according to information obtained by Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, 2,756 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,698 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 29 in France, 329 in Germany, 79 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA. USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 99 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 30 in Great Britain, 8 in Spain, 5 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, and one in Brazil, have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 21 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

The balance of the previous day

Several deaths were not reported on Friday due to the system change, the Strategic Communication Group announced, raising the number of Covid-19 deaths to 923 in Romania.

Therefore, after verifications from the national database, another 25 deaths were recorded due to Covid-19. The last victims were between 32 and 84 years old, confirmed with other ailments. Most of the patients were from Suceava. On Friday, a total of 35 new deaths were reported in the country.

On Friday, 312 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Romania. Thus, the total balance of infections reached 14,811 people. As of Friday, 6,423 patients had been declared cured and discharged. On the other hand, 232 people remain hospitalized in intensive care units.

237,280 tests have been run to identify coronavirus infection to date. In the country, 14,382 people are quarantined in institutionalized centers and another 20,989 Romanians are in home care.

In the last 24 hours, 871 people who did not comply with the traffic restriction measure were fined, since the Constitutional Court ruled that the Ordinance that was the basis for increasing sanctions is not constitutional. The value of the fines of the last day is almost 1 million lei. Furthermore, since the establishment of the state of emergency, 541 criminal cases have been opened to thwart the fight against disease.

To date, 2,444 Romanian citizens in the diaspora have been confirmed with COVID-19. Most of the cases are in Italy, where 1,387 Romanians have been infected. At the same time, 96 Romanians abroad died from a coronavirus infection.
