The peak of the coronavirus epidemic in Romania could be reached next week, and authorities should think of a strategy to resume activity, at least in certain counties, Alexandru Rafila said.
The number of diseases could reach 12,000-14,000 cases next week, when the peak of the pandemic will be recorded in Romania.
Under these conditions, Professor Alexandru Rafila believes that authorities should develop a strategy to resume activity, at least in certain counties.
According to him, a criterion for making this decision would be the consecutive decrease in the number of new cases for 7-10 days.
What would be the criteria for relaxation?
“There are several criteria to consider for this decision. There is a set of epidemiological criteria that refer to the sustained decrease in the number of new cases, which must occur in a period of at least 7-10 days and, of course, there are also criteria of an economic nature, which must be considered important so that, in the end, the economy is the one that supports the health system, “said Rafila on Digi 24.
Alexandru Rafila also said that “a decision can be made that should not necessarily extend to the national level, but at least to the local level for counties that meet the eligibility criteria, so that some action can be taken.”
