An elderly woman from Vaslui called 112 and said that she had just left the hospital and had no food at home. Police in the Vaslui city of Murgeni mobilized and helped “Grandmother Maria” by buying her more food, IPJ Vaslui announced on Saturday, according to Mediafax.

“Today, on Holy Saturday, the last day of Lent, Murgeni policemen paid tribute to the uniform they are wearing, helping a 73-year-old woman from Epureni, Vaslui County,” transmits the County Police Inspectorate (IPJ ) Vaslui.

On Saturday, around 12.00, Grandma Maria called 112 and asked for the authorities’ help: “I am alone, I have no family, I have just been discharged from the hospital and I have nothing to eat.”

“Since in this difficult period, the elderly are also the most affected, the police made a gesture of humanity, buying the old woman various foods, trying to make her vacation more beautiful.” They all got together as much as they could, went to the store and bought food for the old woman (rice, oil, flour, fruits, vegetables, preserves, cakes, bread, meat and eggs), “announces the aforementioned source.

Ionut, a young law enforcement officer, was assigned to provide the elderly woman with the necessary food, along with wishes for health and happiness.

“Excited by the gesture of the police, Grandma Maria thanked them for their good will and sent them, in turn, wishes of health, luck and hard work,” the source quoted concludes.
