The first theory: Biological weapons research has led to the outbreak of the pandemic.
A former Israeli officer said in January that “the new coronavirus could come from a laboratory connected to China’s biological weapons program.” The laboratory he was referring to was in Wuhan, and the ex-officer’s statement was published in the Washington Post. The article suggested that the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory and the Wuhan Institute of Virology would be involved in the production of biological weapons. The only truth in this theory is that the two institutions really exist, but so far no evidence has been found that they are involved in the creation of biological weapons.
The second theory: the coronavirus “escaped” from a laboratory.
A month after the appearance of the first theory, that is, in February, a new version appeared, more “sweetened” for the general public and with greater possibilities of capture. The new coronavirus is said to be of natural origin, so it was not created in the laboratory in a biological weapons program, but was accidentally dropped from a laboratory.

The third theory: the Chinese government concealed information and misled
What is true in this case is that, in fact, Beijing officials sent data on what would become a pandemic. An investigation by the Associated Press revealed that Chinese officials withheld information, including from the World Health Organization, for six days. During this period, the virus spread, and according to the data, 3,000 people were infected.
And an investigation by Chinese journalists showed that the government did not report the actual death toll in Wuhan. Under these conditions, it is difficult to say and predict how the entire situation would have evolved on a global scale if Chinese officials had been informed in time.
Journalists at the Washington Post conclude by saying that it is understandable why people tend to believe such theories and look for culprits and scapegoats for the situation, but a series of small mistakes is far more plausible than a large-scale conspiracy.
