The visit of the Minister of Health to the Focşani County Hospital comes at a difficult time for the hospital institution.

General manager Constantin Mândrilă has been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. In addition, two sections of the hospital, Nephrology and Cardiology, were closed, and eight medical professionals were positively detected with SARS-CoV-2, Ziarul de Vrancea reported.

The county prefect, Gheorghiță Berbece, told Ziarul de Vrancea that several management deficiencies were found at the Focșani County Hospital and, therefore, calls for the establishment of a military leadership.

The hospital is run by director Constantin Mândrilă, sentenced to prison with suspension in 2005 for stealing canned meat from the state reserve for flood victims, while he was the secretary of Vrancea prefecture, says g4media.ro.
