9,685 new cases of infected people and 160 deaths

In the last 24 hours, 9,685 new cases of COVID-19 were registered. Another 160 people died after becoming infected with coronavirus, while 1,132 COVID patients are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, on November 21, in Romania, 412,808 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 287,310 patients were declared cured.

After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 9,685 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of infections accumulated at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of the municipality and the counties of Bucharest. Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after reassessment of the patients who were already positive, 1,362 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 9,916 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 20.11.2020 (10:00) – 21.11.2020 (10:00) 160 deaths (98 men and 62 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iahoși, Maura, Satu Mare, Său-Mare, Satoi, Maura, Satuman, Său Mare Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 3 deaths in the age category 30 to 39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 16 deaths in the age category of age 50 to 59 years, 39 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 35 deaths in the category over 80 years.

151 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 5 deceased patients so far no comorbidities have been reported.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 13,294. Of these, 1,132 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,877,953 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 33,221 were performed in the last 24 hours, 20,387 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol and 12,834 upon request.

In Romania, 47,048 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 13,663 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 77,333 people are in home quarantine and 16 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5,484 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 832 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on 20 November this year, 7,208 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 1,175,680 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 3 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

„We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions of health protection regulations can be notified. The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects ”, affirms the Strategic Communication Group.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,864 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,935 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in the Kingdom United, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar , Vatican, Portugal and Egypt.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

According to GCS, these data are obtained by Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities in the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens in abroad.
