In the last 24 hours, 3,812 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered, 111 deaths and 1,233 people are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, on December 25, in Romania, 612,373 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 530,308 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 3,812 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

To date, 15,023 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 24.12.2020 (10:00) – 25.12.2020 (10:00) 111 deaths were reported (70 men and 41 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeş, Bacău, Botoşani, Brăila, Braşov, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanţa, Dâmboviţa, Dolj, Galaţi, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomiţa, Iaşi, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Olt, Prahova, Satuva, Mare, Sălafo, Vasluiţa and Buucaman.

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 8 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 28 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 40 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years. years and 33 deaths in the category over 80 years.

109 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 9,833. Of these, 1,233 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,706,490 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 16,862 were performed in the last 24 hours, 11,262 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol and 5,600 on request.

In Romania, 39,211 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 9,677 people are in institutionalized isolation. Additionally, 58,974 people are in home quarantine and 141 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,619 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 329 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 24 of this year, 5,669 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 1,131,480 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 2 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

Following a government analysis, the spread of the coronavirus entered a downward slope in Romania.

The government officially announces that the rate of spread of the virus has been reduced. If a month ago there were about 60,000 new people infected in a week across the country, last week fewer than 35,000 cases were reported, the government says.

However, the government does not want to discourage compliance with security measures and demands vigilance.

Until yesterday, December 24, in Romanian territory, 608,561 cases of people infected by the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) were confirmed. 523,829 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,310 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

On Saturday, December 26, the vaccines will arrive at the “Cantacuzino” National Institute for Medical-Military Research and Development, designated the National Center for the storage of vaccines against COVID-19. The approximate time of arrival of the vaccines at the Cantacuzino Institute is at 07.00 hours.

Vaccination begins December 27 at the 10 infectious disease hospitals on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
