30% of coronavirus cases in the last week were in Bucharest and four counties

More than 30% of all COVID-19 cases were recorded last week in Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj, Timis and Suceava, the National Institute of Public Health reported Tuesday.

” In the week of September 14-20, 32.8% of all cases were registered in Bucharest, Iasi, Cluj, Timis and Suceava.”, states the INSP, in the weekly surveillance report, based on the data reported until September 20.

INSP shows that 32% of all deaths from the new coronavirus were recorded in the same period in Bucharest, Maramures, Bihor, Hunedoara and Prahova.

In 11 counties and the city of Bucharest there is a cumulative incidence rate of more than 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

In 15 counties there is an upward trend in the new coronavirus – Alba, Botoşani, Cluj, Covasna, Ialomiţa, Ilfov, Maramureş, Olt, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiş, Tulcea and Vâlcea.

According to the INSP, 1 in 23 total coronavirus cases was registered with medical personnel, writes Agerpres.

At the same time, 80.7% of all deaths occurred in people over 60 years of age and 59.8% in men.

95% of the deceased had at least one associated comorbidity, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurological disease, kidney disease, obesity, lung disease, neoplasia.

Regarding the number of outbreaks registered last week (208 in total), 44 were in medical units, 38 – in residential centers for children or the elderly, 38 – family members, 33 – in production units, 18 – in economic operators, 15 – in public institutions, 13 – education, 3 – theater / opera, 2 – sports club, 2 – Horeca, 2 – community.
