There have been 1,059 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. To date, 114,648 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania. The number of patients declared cured reaches 92,169.

As a result of the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 1,059 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Distinguished from recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive 599 people were reconfirmed positive.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 4,503 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection died in Romania. In the last 24 hours there were 45 deaths (28 men and 17 women), in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Neamț , Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, there was one death in the age category 30 to 39 years, one death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 11 deaths in the age category of 60 to 69 years, 16 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 10 deaths in the category of more than 80 years.

The 45 deaths were of patients who presented comorbidities.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 7,119. Of these, 496 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,253,380 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these 21,978 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 13,773 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 8,205 upon request.

In Romania, 11,090 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 7,566 people are institutionally isolated. In addition, 34,393 people are in home quarantine and 8 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
