2,550 new cases of COVID-19 from 30,000 tests. The number of patients in intensive care is increasing

2,550 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Romania in the last 24 hours, out of approximately 30,000 tests. 973 patients remain hospitalized for intensive care. On the other hand, since the last evaluation, 77 deaths have been reported among COVID patients.

Two counties, Timiș and Maramureș, remain in the red scenario, with an incidence of more than 3 cases per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.

To date, 757,676 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania. 703,966 patients were declared cured.

To date, 19,277 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV2 infection have died.

In the last 24 hours, 77 deaths (49 men and 28 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 9 deaths in the age group 50 to 59 years, 19 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 22 deaths in the age category age 70 to 79 years and 26 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

74 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and so far no comorbidities of 3 deceased patients have been reported.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 7,019. Of these, 973 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 5,685,927 RT-PCR tests and 192,926 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 24,608 RT-PCR tests were performed (14,591 according to case definition and medical protocol and 10,017 on request) and 6,266 rapid antigen tests.

In Romania, 40,804 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 10,315 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 62,094 people are quarantined at home and 150 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
