In the last 24 hours, 6,333 new cases of COVID infection were confirmed, out of 26,389 tests. 1,288 patients are in intensive care. There have been 148 deaths in the last 24 hours.

To date, on December 12, in Romania, 551,900 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
451,477 patients were declared cured.

After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 6,333 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Below is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 976 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 13,264 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 11.12.2020 (10:00) – 12.12.2020 (10:00) 148 deaths were reported (86 men and 62 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Botoșani, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Timișor, Sufov Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 0 to 9 years, 1 death in the age category 20 to 29 years, 3 deaths in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths in the age category of age 40 to 49 years, 10 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 38 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 33 deaths in the age group over 80 years.

142 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 2 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 4 deceased patients, so far no comorbidities have been reported.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11,886. Of these, 1,288 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,413,212 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 26,389 were performed in the last 24 hours, 17,098 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,291 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 10 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until December 12 have been reported.

In Romania, 40,723 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 11,419 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 65,271 people are quarantined at home and 104 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,983 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 760 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 11 of this year, 5,497 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 902,649 lei. Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

„We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions of health protection regulations can be notified. The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects ”, GCS mentions.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,951 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,936 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 167 in the Kingdom United, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 4 in Sweden, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 2 in Montenegro and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil , Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt and the Russian Federation.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 127 Romanian citizens abroad, 32 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
