The head of the Department of Emergency Situations, Secretary of State Raed Arafat, declared Tuesday night, on Digi24, that 22 municipalities and 15 cities in Romania exceeded the threshold of 3 in the incidence rate of coronavirus cases for every thousand inhabitants. He noted that an increase in the number of diseases leads to an increase in the number of patients in intensive care and pressure on hospitals and the health system..

We currently have 615 localities that have an incidence between 1.5 and 3 per thousand inhabitants, announced Raed Arafat. There are 44 municipalities and 50 cities that register for these incidence rates.

Instead, they are 255 locations throughout the country that have exceeded incidence rate of 3 per thousandRaed Arafat said. Said 22 municipalities and 15 cities they have an incidence rate of more than 3 per thousand.

Raed Arafat listed some of the municipalities with an incidence greater than three per thousand: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Alba Iulia, Bacău, Reșița, Sfântu Gheorghe, Craiova, Miercurea Ciuc, Târgu Mureș, Zalău, Alexandria, Râmnicu Vâlcea.

All of these big cities beat the rate of 3 per thousand and action was taken, Raed Arafat said.

“It just came to our knowledge then. The increase in numbers leads to an increase in the number of intensive care and pressure on hospitals and the health system. We hope that the measures that have been taken recently, if observed, will lead to cessation of growth, at least it stops on a plateau, if we cannot go to a downward curve, but that means that for a while we will have pressure on the health system, because between 3,000 – 4,000 or more daily cases means a significant number of cases in intensive care, ”said Secretary of State Raed Arafat.
