2020 US Presidential Election How the Latest Election Debate Influenced Trump and Biden Odds in Online Gambling

Chances of US President Donald Trump being re-elected in November rose slightly in online sportsbooks after Thursday’s final debate, but his Democratic rival Joe Biden still has a better turnout, Agerpres said, cited by Reuters.

Bettors on the British platform Smarkets give Democratic candidate Joe Biden a 66% chance of winning the November 3 election, up from 68% before the debate.

Instead, Trump’s chances have risen from 32% to 34%.

The same level was reached by Trump and Betfair, who reported that more than 9 million pounds ($ 12 million) had been wagered on the US presidential election in the last 24 hours.

The odds for the two candidates have been getting closer since the middle of the month, but betting trends on profile sites still predict Biden’s win.

The former Democratic vice president has a substantial lead in national opinion polls, though competition is tighter in key states where the bottom line is likely to be decided.

Most high-risk bets on political issues come from outside the United States, where betting on such issues is prohibited.
