In the last 24 hours, 5,719 new cases of 34,343 tests have been registered. Another 121 Romanians died after being infected by coronavirus. 1,070 COVID patients are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, on January 6, in Romania, 654,007 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

586,764 patients were declared cured.

After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5,719 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

To date, 16,299 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 05.01.2021 (10:00) – 06.01.2021 (10:00) 121 deaths were reported (77 men and 44 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Praceaâhoib, Satiu, Mare, S Timilucea, Tulceaiș Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 8 deaths were recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 23 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 46 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years and 37 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

116 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 2 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 3 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 8,847. Of these, 1,070 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,902,726 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 34,343 were performed in the last 24 hours, 22,072 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 12,271 on request.

In Romanian territory, 26,141 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 8,711 people are in institutionalized isolation. Additionally, 40,672 people are in home quarantine and 47 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,329 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1,021 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 5, 4,283 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 708,350 lei.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,115 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,939 in Italy, 1,322 in Spain, 173 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 20 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 10 in Ireland and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore and the Russian Federation.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 132 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, died 3 in Sweden, 1 in Switzerland, 1 in the United States, 1 in Brazil, 1 in the Republic of Congo, 1 in Greece, 1 in Iran and 1 in Ireland.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
