In 2021, Romanians will have 15 legal days off, but only seven of them will be during the week. The other eight will fail on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Labor Code, the legal holidays in 2021 are:
– January 1 and 2 (first and second day of the new year) – Friday and Saturday;
– January 24 (day of the union of the Romanian principalities) – Sunday;
– April 30 (Good Friday);
– May 1 (Labor Day) – Saturday;
– May 2 – 3 (first and second day of Easter) – Sunday and Monday;
– June 1 (Children’s Day) – Tuesday;
– June 20 and 21 (first and second day of Pentecost) – Sunday and Monday;
– August 15 (Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) – Sunday;
– November 30 (Feast of Saint Andrew) – Tuesday;
– December 1 (Romanian National Day) – Wednesday;
– December 25 and 26 (first and second day of Christmas) – Saturday and Sunday.
Until January 15 of each year, the business days for which days off are granted to staff, days before and / or after the holidays in which they do not work, will be established by decision of the Government, for the personnel of the budget system . as well as the days in which the hours not worked are made up, stipulates the Labor Code.
