Romania has registered 551,900 cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the crisis, of which 6,333 have been registered in the last 24 hours.

The daily balance of new cases is slightly lower than the previous day, when 127 more cases were confirmed. However, the number of tests is much less.

The 6,333 new cases announced on Saturday were confirmed out of a number of 26,399 tests, that is, they were carried out with almost 4,000 fewer than the previous day.

Another 976 people were positively reconfirmed, which means that today’s positive rate is 27.6%.

In total, 451,477 patients were declared cured, of which 8,309 in the last 24 hours.

Authorities say 148 people, 86 men and 62 women, have died in the past 24 hours.

Among the announced deaths there is one in the 0-9 year age category and one in the 20-29 year age category.

Another 3 deaths occurred in the age group 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths in the age group 40 to 49 years, 10 deaths in the age group 50 to 59 years, 38 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 33 deaths in the category of more than 80 years.

The number of patients in intensive care has decreased by 11 compared to yesterday, now reaching 1,288.

Another 40,723 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 11,419 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 65,271 people are quarantined at home and 104 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
