US authorities have asked for the help of citizens to find the man who shot two police officers in Los Angeles, writes CNN. Law enforcement also promised a $ 100,000 reward for information leading to the attacker’s arrest.
The two policemen were in the car when a man opened fire on them and then fled. The victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition, but Sheriff Alex Villanueva announced that the two are showing signs of recovery.
President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter, sharing the recording of the attack, that “this monster must be severely punished.”
In 2020, about 40 police officers died while on duty, according to statistics released by the FBI. Eight of them were ambushed.
At the doors of the hospital where the two officers were transported, several protesters shouted slogans against the police and blocked the entrance to the emergency unit.
