Rep. Dan MeuserDaniel (Dan) Meuser MEI (R-Pa.) Announced on Saturday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Pennsylvania Republican said he adheres to health guidelines and postpones public events after his diagnosis.
As a member of Congress, I would like to inform you that I, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID-19. I have followed all CDC health and safety guidelines, and will take all necessary action, including postponing upcoming public events and quarantine work from home until I receive a negative test result, ”he said in a statement.
“I am thankful to God that my adult children were not home and that my wife Shelley tested negative,” he added.
The GOP legislator was able to attend Saturday after the House vote on legislation to provide $ 25 billion for postal service operations after he contracted the virus, but said he would have voted against the measure.
“Because of this, I will not be present or voting on HR 8015 today. However, I will submit for the record that I would have voted ‘NAY’. I will always support a strong, effective post office. “They need to get the resources they need to perform at a high level of excellence,” he said in a statement.
