Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is back in the news cycle this week after an expanded look at gameplay. It’s an impressive display case, especially when viewed in 4K, and even the 3D audio is impressive. While it obviously looks great at full resolution, what about frame rate?

Talking to Japanese magazine Famitsu, Insomniac Games has elaborated on performance options available in Rift Apart. As you can read in the interview, the PlayStation 5 will have exclusively two modes: one runs at 4K and 30 frames per second, and another runs at a “lower resolution” at 60 frames per second. The developer even shared the news in the tweet below:

This is very similar to appearance options in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, also from Insomniac. While we do not know the exact resolution of the 60fps mode, it will use temporary injection, which essentially improves the image quality up to 4K levels. It seems that the studio is busy giving players the choice between higher detail and smoother performance, which is always fun to have.
