A man wearing a Santa Claus dardi and a hat and a mask of President Donald Trump shot his sister-in-law twice in California on Saturday, officials said.
The victim was hospitalized with serious but fatal injuries following the morning attack in Rohneart Park, California, Rohneart Park Public Safety said in a statement.
Gerald Jacinth, 75, of Las Vegas, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was apparently dressed when he stood on the street from his sister-in-law’s house and reached out to hand her a package, department officials said.
Rohnart Park officials said they found his black Dodge car in the victim’s home while making a driveway like a Donald Trump, white curly beard and Santa hat.
The 77-year-old victim, whose name was not released by police, met Inth Synth from outside but did not recognize him, police said. He would not take the package, which the suspect said was a “special delivery” and Jacinth raised a duffel bag and fired, the department said.
It is not clear if the victim, who was struck twice, was shot in the bag.
“Although the victim suffered two gunshot wounds, he was able to take a photo of Jackith sitting in his vehicle whenever he was fleeing,” police said. “
The victim’s wife dialed 911, and officers were in the area within a minute, public safety officials said. Jasinth was driving nearby when he was surrounded by authorities and surrendered, they said.
“Officers found a .380 handgun in a duffel bag while searching the vehicle,” the department said. They also found a mask, police said.
One of the victim’s driveways – it was not clear if it was a package – was considered suspicious, and Sonoma County’s ndans disposal team responded and eventually determined that a towel was inside.
