In iOS 14 Apple added Picture to Picture on the iPhone, this feature is designed to let you watch video on a small screen on your device while you continue to do other things on the phone.
The YouTube app doesn’t support Picture in Picture, but until yesterday there was a functional workout that allowed youtube.com videos to be viewed in Picture mode in Picture in Picture Safari.
As of today, that transaction is terminated, and it is not clear if it was erroneously or intentionally removed. Trying to use a picture in a picture on a video on a mobile YouTube website just doesn’t work. When tapping the button on the picture in full screen mode, the video clicks for a second, but it immediately clicks on the website, so it cannot be used as a picture in the picture window

Picture-in-Picture works with YouTube.com on the iPad, and YouTube videos embedded on third-party sites like MQumer.com seem to be able to play in Picture-in-Picture mode, but Picture-in-Picture does not work on the YouTube website. .
For the picture of the picture tutorial video we just tested the picture with the picture yesterday and you can see below, it was working well. There have been no updates to iOS or Safari since then, so it’s not clear what’s going on.
For now, Picture in Picture is no longer working with a mobile YouTube website, but there is another function. If you request a desktop site on YouTube.com in Safari, you can get the picture in the picture to work as desired.
