Get ready to release “Story”, because One Direction has dusted off their social media accounts in preparation for the boy band’s 10th anniversary.
“Tomorrow! You and I have a lot of history # 10YearsOf1D”, the band shared on Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday (July 22) along with a simple black and white graphic that says “10 years of One Direction”.
Before the surprise release, the quintet’s last official account tweet came two years ago to celebrate its eighth anniversary. Meanwhile, the band’s last Instagram post was in May 2016, promoting their guest appearance on FOX. Family man months after they announced their indefinite hiatus.
While it’s unclear what surprises the 1D boys have in store for their legions of fans, rumors have been rumbling for quite some time about an impending reunion between the bandmates.
The evidence? Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson have openly discussed the possibility of reuniting the band in various interviews in recent years. (In fact, just a few weeks ago, Payne sent the Directioners into a frenzy by posting a TikTok of a cryptic called FaceTime featuring Styles.) Meanwhile, Zayn Malik has remained silent on the matter since she left the group in early 2015, although her ex-all bandmates also followed her on social media in April.
