The man in his 30s who is charged after his mother was found dead in Trondheim on Wednesday, denies his criminal guilt.

His defense Torfinn Svanem reports to the Nidaros newspaper.

– Of course you are very affected by the situation. His mother is dead and has been arrested. It’s a mental strain, says Svanem of the man.

Svanem says the incarceration issue has yet to be clarified, but says his client denies criminal guilt, without the lawyer wanting to go into more detail about why.

– I do not know if the police have requested prison, but I hope that it will be clarified during the morning, he says.

The woman in her 60s was found dead at a private address in Trondheim on Wednesday afternoon. Police received a report of a lifeless person in a home at 4:46 p.m., and at 5:03 p.m. they received a message from a doctor at the scene that the person had been confirmed dead.

Police attorney Aleksander Tokle informed VG on Wednesday that the man is charged with serious bodily injury resulting in death.
– We are working to find out exactly what has happened and that is the core of the investigation being done at the scene and during the interrogation, he said Wednesday.
Police did not know the defendant before, and police were unable to say anything about the cause of death Wednesday night.
