The minibus carrying the lubricators to the Russian cross-country ski team for the Tour de Ski ran off the road.
He writes, among others, Swedish Expressen and Swiss Blick.
Expressen writes Tuesday night that it is the lubricators of the Russian stars who are said to have been involved in the accident.
The bus carrying the lubricators is said to have veered off the road and crashed into an icy sea.
According to Expressen, six men, one of whom is the driver, must have been on the bus, but all must have escaped the accident with minor injuries after only half the bus plunged into the icy water.
The accident is said to have occurred at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in Livigno, Italy, near the Swiss border.
According to the Italian television channel Teleunica, the rescue work lasted seven and a half hours. The television station also writes that Russian lubricators were “miraculously rescued”.
Neither the manager of the Russian team, Markus Cramer, nor any of the Russian athletes should have been on board the bus.
Cramer is still heavily shaken by the incident when speaking with Expressen, after being briefed on the course of events.
– It was a very icy road, and suddenly the bus heeled over and fell 50 meters off a steep cliff. It was a real accident. Really ugly, he tells the newspaper.
– How are people now?
– They are fine. All six are already in place here in Val Müstair. They have been examined by doctors. They are ready to work again, but obviously we are all in shock, says Cramer.
