Last year’s experience of terror against PSV Eindhoven is not part of Åge Hareide’s preparations for Thursday’s Europa League playoff.
– I think we should bury that match, says the Rosenborg coach before the broadcast of the VG + match (the match starts at 19.00).
The 1-4 defeat at Lerkendal gave the following title in VG: Rosenborg attacked with loose powder and was retired: – Embarrassing.
RBK will now assemble a completely different team. Probably only André Hansen and Samuel Adegbenro of the starting eleven remain that bad night a year ago.
PSV also have a new composition, but they have several that participated in the 4-1 victory. Among other things, the two-goal scorer Donyell Malen.
– They have a completely different team, says Hareide who “has seen a lot at PSV in recent days”.
Hareide can get some good advice from Markus Henriksen. The son who returned from Rosenborg played five seasons at AZ Alkmaar from 2012 to 2017.
– I think he has a good control over himself, because I know he is good at scanning and recording the opponent. I will probably have to consult with him, but I know PSV are a very good team after playing against them for several years. It will be a strong recession not to get European matches. I would say they are favorites, but there have been great wonders in Lerkendal so I am in good faith that we can beat them with armored combat, Henriksen tells VG.
– Rosenborg beat Ajax in 2017. So is it a good idea to beat PSV in 2020?
– Would have been fun. Then Norway will start to be better than Holland.

After two victories in the first Dutch league game, PSV Eindhoven played 1-1 against Heracles on Sunday.
– It is nice. Because then we have a chance, says Åge Hareide.
He has stopped losing football games. Five non-loss games with Rosenborg come after Denmark’s record 34 series (a penalty shootout loss to Croatia at the World Cup is considered a draw). PSV’s match may be Hareide’s 40th unbeaten in the last four years.
– He is the reason why we raise the notches that we have to do, thinks Kristoffer Zachariassen.
– It will be a very good game. We know a very good team. But we are not after anyone. We will enter the group stage, says Kristoffer Zachariassen, RBK’s top scorer this season with 10 goals in the elite series in the Europa League playoffs.
– But we have to get into the rings of the match against Aalesund, he says.

Rosenborg won by sheer luck when Zachariassen scored both in Ålesund on Sunday. The trio of umpires admitted after RBK’s win that they had tricked AaFK into scoring at 1-1 in the second half. The defeat could have been decisive in the match.
The RBK manager had no trouble admitting that the last 45 minutes were bad at Color Line Stadium.
– Too restless with the ball. We give it away too often, Hareide says. But he highlights that it is still an important quality to win.
– You should never underestimate victories, he says.
But he guarantees that the poor quality against the bottom of the Eliteserien will not be repeated against PSV:
– You will see a completely different team on Thursday.
