– We had nothing else to talk about – VG

The ruling parties and the FRP are widely separated in budget negotiations. On Tuesday night, Siv Jensen walked out of the budget negotiations after just under half an hour.

Siv Jensen left the meeting at 6.25 pm. Upon leaving, he said the following to the media outside of SMK:

– Yesterday I asked the government to make good use of the time. Obviously, they have not. So it was a short meeting, we had nothing else to talk about.

Jensen says he is now waiting for a new proposal from the government.

– The government can solve this if it wants to, but then it has to think of something better.

The FRP leader had been in the meeting for almost half an hour before leaving again. The talks have been ongoing since November 9 and moved to the level of party leader last weekend. Jensen arrived at the Prime Minister’s office shortly before 6 pm Tuesday, ready for further negotiations.

Along the way, Jensen stated that the situation in the budget negotiations is stagnant:

– Is seriously. There is a great distance between us. The government knows what it takes to get to port.

– These are important concessions when it comes to cross-border trade. The refugee quota remains an unsolved problem. Retirees are an important group for us. And transportation is an important issue for us.

– It is up to the government to find a solution. We are clear that we need concessions.

Also on Monday, Jensen described the negotiations as stalled. He then referred to a meeting at the Prime Minister’s office on Sunday.

He pointed to tax cuts on goods exposed to border trade, more money for asphalt and protection against landslides, cuts in tolls and greater purchasing power for retirees, in which cases the FRP should have an impact.
