Activision plans to stay alive in Call of Duty: Warzone for a long time, including with future Call of Duty game releases. He confirmed Taylor Kurosaki of Infinity Ward this week.

In an interview with the French website Gamergen, Kurosaki said that Warzone presents many new challenges for the team. One of the biggest is how it expands the Battle Royale offering to keep up with the rest of the Call of Duty universe.

– Call of Duty has maintained a frequent launch frequency for many, many years, and Warzone has forced us to rethink how we launch new content and how we integrate it into the series. Call of Duty is a genre in itself, with several different branches on the tree, but everything is linked in one way or another. Warzone will be the red thread that unites the different branches of Call of Duty, the developer explained.

Tips on support for new consoles

Later in the interview, Kurosaki was asked about plans for Call of Duty: Warzone on the next generation of consoles. He couldn’t confirm anything there, but strongly suggested that the game be seen on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

– I know our plan is for Warzone to continue for a long time, and as soon as the new platforms are released and available I am sure we will support them.

Call of Duty: Warzone has gained great popularity since its launch in early March. Activision is constantly announcing new milestones in terms of player numbers, while Infinity Ward has promised new modes and experiences that will keep the experience alive, not unlike the way Epic Games brings Fortnite to life.
