Next week, Google will open its video conferencing tool, Google Meet, for everyone, the company writes in a blog post. Until now, one had to have a business account to use the service.
Now, however, anyone with a Google account can start a video meeting with up to 100 participants for up to 60 minutes. However, Google writes in its blog post that they do not plan to submit the deadline before September 30.
You want to avoid “zoom problems”
In addition to using Google Meet in your browser, you can also start meetings from Android and iOS applications.
With competitor Zoom’s vulnerabilities fresh in memory, Google provides more details regarding its own security measures on Meet. For example, you must have a Google account to participate, so anonymous users are not allowed.
It will also be possible to refuse people to attend meetings and to reject users if necessary.
According to Google, the code required to attend a meeting should be super complex and imperative against so-called brute force divination. They also promise that user data should not be used for advertising or sold to third parties.
How about Hangouts?

Google also has an application called Hangouts, but it is aimed at regular consumers. Here, however, it is also possible to make group video calls with up to 10 people.
Facebook launches messaging rooms
BTW, Google is not the only big IT giant that knows the Zoom pressure. Facebook has also announced a new feature called Messenger Rooms, which will allow video meetings with up to 50 people.
