The entire Viking team was quarantined after forward Veton Berisha received a positive corona test on Wednesday.

– I feel completely fine and without symptoms, but I think of course it is very boring that the whole team has to be quarantined due to my positive result. The most difficult thing is not that I myself have to be isolated, but that the team must be in quarantine and thus postpone their next game to a later date, Berisha says in a press release.

It was Stavanger Aftenblad who first reported on the positive profile of the Viking profile. Coach Bjarne Berntsen confirms the positive response to VG, and that the entire team is in quarantine as Berisha trained with the team on Monday and Tuesday.

– We must follow the rules that are when a player has tested positive, says Berntsen.

Berisha has also drawn attention on the field this season:

Berisha underwent a test after being in close contact with an infected person on Tuesday.

Viking was scheduled to face Odd in the next round of the Elite Series, but this is now postponed. The game against Haugesund the following weekend will also be postponed, writes the Norwegian Football Association (NFF) in a press release.

– This is unfortunate, but not directly unexpected. At the same time, this is a reminder to all of us of the importance of carefully following soccer protocols and the authorities’ advice on infection control, says the head of the competition department at NFF, Nils Fisketjønn.
