Donald Trump made a clear call to the rest of the American sports organizations during the UFC convention this weekend in Jacksonville.

Trump was one of the first to give the UFC the opportunity to organize events in Las Vegas after White and his brothers Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta acquired the MMA organization in 2001.

First defeat in eight years.

In the event’s main fight, Justin Gaethje delivered the battle of his life, inflicting Tony Ferguson’s first eight-year loss in the battle for the temporary lightweight title.

After nearly five rounds of hitting, Judge Herb Dean had seen enough and entered and stopped play, saving Ferguson from further injury.

The interim title match was created because Khabib Nurmagomedov, who holds the title and actually met Ferguson at the rally, is sitting at the coronation in Dagestan.

Now everything is set for a meeting between Nurmagomedov and Gaethje in the weight class, where Irish superstar Conor McGregor is also competing.

– Khabib is the best in the world and I’ve been working for challenges like this since the age of four. I would be more than happy to represent the United States against the best of Dagestan or Russia. He is now 28-0, and there are no other challenges he wants now. “I want to meet him,” Gaethje said after the game.

Cejudo defended the title and published

In the return leg of the tournament, Henry Cejudo defended his bantamweight title with a technical knockout victory against former champion Dominick Cruz, who returned after a four-year break.

Towards the end of the second round, Cejudo landed one knee, sending Cruz to the canvas before continuing with several punches and securing victory in the TKO.

Then, the gold medalist from the 2008 Beijing Olympics made it clear that he is putting the gloves on the shelf.

– I am happy with my career. I’ve done enough for this sport and I want to step back and have fun. Since I was eleven years old, I have sacrificed my whole life to get to where I am today. I will not let anyone take it from me. I’m leaving tonight. I’m 33 years old and happy with my career, Cejudo said.

The UFC must crown a new bantamweight champion.

Marlon Moraes and Aljamain Sterling are currently highest on the UFC rankings, but at the post-convention press conference, UFC President White promised the title for third place, Petr Yan.

One tested positive before the meeting

Ahead of this weekend’s conference, the UFC has conducted several crowned tests of everyone involved in the event. Practitioners, coaches, the media and the organization’s own employees have all been evaluated in Jacksonville.

Brazilian Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and two of his cornerbacks gave a positive test on Friday, and the middleweight meeting with Uriah Hall was canceled.

The other eleven games were as planned, behind closed doors at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

In the same arena, two new UFC events will be organized in the coming week. Wednesday is the light heavyweight meeting between Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira’s main game.

On Saturday, heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris wrap up the convention in Jacksonville.
