“If the form is as good as it is today, we hope we can move it to the White House tomorrow,” Dr. Brian Garibaldi told reporters.

On Sunday afternoon, Donald Trump’s medical team reported on the president’s health. The team is led by Dr. Sean Conley.

Two drops of oxygen

“Since we last spoke, the president has continued to improve the situation,” said Trump’s chief physician, Sean Conley.

“There have been some ups and downs, as with any disease course,” Conley said.

He said Trump had a fever Friday and the president had had two oxygen drops during the illness.

– Yesterday there was an episode with a drop in blood oxygen, but he had no respiratory problems. This was the second time we experienced this, Conley said.

Treated with steroids

Trump was treated with the steroid dexamethasone on Saturday, according to doctors. It is usually given to patients with severe complications due to Covid-19.

– Has not had a fever since Friday and has no respiratory problems. We control heart and kidney functions. All vital functions are stable, Conley said.

– Today’s plan is to encourage him to eat and move as much as he can, he said.

Trump has also received two doses of the drug Remedisevir.

It is usually given in case of serious complications.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic steroid that is a fortified version of cortisol from the body’s own steroid.

– It acts in a way that suppresses the body’s immune response. It is actually a bit illogical to administer it in case of a viral infection because in fact the body’s resistance to the virus is inhibited, says professor and chief physician of the intensive care unit at Oslo University Hospital Tor Inge Tønnessen to NRK.

The steroid is given to those with the most severe form of lung failure, says professor and chief physician of the intensive care unit at Oslo University Hospital Tor Inge Tønnessen.

However, larger studies show that the steroid has an effect on the pulmonary insufficiency syndrome that some covid patients suffer from. It’s probably because the syndrome is the body’s own immune system overreacting and thereby damaging the lungs, he continues.

Tønnessen says the steroid is given to those with the most severe form of lung failure.

– Based on information provided by Donald Trump’s doctors, he doesn’t appear to have severe lung failure, but it’s hard to tell for anyone other than those treating Trump, says Tønnessen.

WHO guidelines recommend that steroids not be used for mild pulmonary insufficiency.

“Trump is perhaps the only patient in the world who has received these drugs (remdesivir, two monoclonal antibodies and dexamethasone) combined so early in the disease,” he says.

Refuse that they tried to hide something

According to Conley, the confusion that emerged Saturday about the seriousness of Trump’s condition was due to a “misunderstanding.”

He denies that they tried to hide anything about his health.

Conley got the job as Trump’s physician two years ago and is a physician of osteopathy who draws on a holistic understanding of a patient’s ailments, writes the New York Times.

– The president wears a mask when he is near us. While he’s in my care, we’ll talk about wearing a mask, Conley said.

– Trump feels great

On Sunday afternoon, the White House said Donald Trump “is doing very well.”

– The good news is that the president feels great and actually wants to go back to work in the White House. But I think he needs to stay at Walter Reed for a while longer, Robert O’Brien said at the White House.

O’Brien is the US national security adviser to the Trump administration.

Republican Minority Leader in Congress Kevin McCarthy spoke to Trump on Friday when the president was hospitalized.

“You could hear it was not good,” the Republican told Fox News.

McCarthy also said the president worked from the hospital and that the two discuss political issues.

Republican Governor: – A Warning

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine believes the president should have been wearing a face mask during the presidential debate.

The Republican calls it “a warning” that the president has tested positive for the crown.

“This should be a kind of warning to everyone that anyone can get the virus, even the president of the United States,” DeWine told CNN.

– I hope that people who have not used masks before will look at this and say: “If the president can get infected, so can I.”
