APS media politician Trond Giske warns the government.
On Monday at 11 am, the FRP will present its alternative budget.
As Nettavisen wrote on Sunday, Frp will cut support for the state channel by two billion. There, the government has proposed NOK 6.6 billion for next year.

That infuriates the party’s media politician, Trond Giske, who is speeding out of Norwegian politics.
– This is a very bad media policy, Giske tells Nettavisen and explains his opinion:
– Such a large cut will mainly affect the elderly and children. Commercial actors prioritize programs that bring in advertising revenue, so it is those between 15 and 50 years old that are interesting.
Giske says that while advertising directed at children is not allowed, older people are not that interesting to advertisers.
Warn Erna
– It will also strongly affect the supply of the district. NRK is the only offering that is represented nationwide. So we’ll have a lot of poor coverage regionally, he thinks.
Giske gives a clear warning to Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) at the beginning of budget negotiations with Frp:
– It would also warn the government against entering into an agreement as described with Frp. This will be a violation of the preconditions for a four-year plan, that is, until the Storting period, for NRK, to provide the necessary stability, says Giske.
Won’t cut anything
– Says a two billion cut will bleed too much. Can you join a smaller cut?
– No, Giske responds in cash.
– I think it should have clear requirements for NRK to use the money wisely, but I think we are at the right level today, he adds.

– But can’t NRK benefit from streamlining?
– I think that all the media today have to look at how they spend money, but then it is a fact that, for example, sports rights are becoming more and more expensive, NRK is losing here too, so they need this money to assert himself, he believes.
Giske believes that it is important to note that:
– The question is who will make an offer to those who are not so interesting to advertisers, and here NRK plays a crucial role. In the last 5 to 10 years, we have experienced a decrease in the number of journalists and I will not contribute more to that.
Frp: – Completely wrong to protect NRK
FRP’s media policy spokesman Himanshu Gulati believes that it will be completely wrong to protect NRK from the competition that is part of the everyday life of other media houses.
FRP will also cut 200 million crowns in support of Klassekampen, Dagsavisen, Vårt Land and Nationen.
