The world’s biggest TikTok star, Charli D’Amelio, 16, brings her family to TikTok challenger Triller.

It’s the LA Times that brings the sensational news. Along with her sister Dixie (19) and her parents Marc and Heidi, Charli D’Amelio has announced a transfer to the Los Angeles-based Triller service.

The main reason is President Donald Trump’s threats to ban TikTok in the United States because of its Chinese owners. This threat has caused alternative services to TikTok to rub their hands and work hard to take over TikTok users, if this is prohibited.

The D’Amelio family alone has a total of nearly 140 million followers. Charli only has 87 million.

“Our family looks forward to sharing our own exciting and unique content on another fun platform where we can communicate with our fans and fans,” Marc D’Amelio said in a statement, according to the LA Times.

Triller, for his part, says they have been prepared for such a scenario for a long time and are well prepared.

– We could not have been more proud to welcome the D’Amelio family to Triller with open arms. They are an incredibly multifaceted and talented family that has already proven themselves to be of value to us, Triller President Bobby Sarnevesht says in a statement, according to the LA Times.

President Donald Trump noted earlier this summer that he is considering banning TikTok and set a September 20 deadline for an American business to take over or partner with TikTok to ensure that personal information of American citizens remains on the USA

In recent days, TikTok has been in negotiations with the American company Oracle on an agreement that must finally be approved by the president himself.

Meanwhile, several services have introduced similar innovations to TikTok to attract US users of the service if it is banned.

Facebook-owned Instagram has introduced Reels as an alternative, while Google-owned YouTube has launched Shorts, currently as a payment solution in India. This is not a coincidence, as India has already banned TikTok.

According to the LA Times, TikTok has not answered questions about how they see the D’Amelio family now moving to rival Triller.
