Jørgen Strand Larsen made a good debut for the Norwegian national team against Austria. The main character himself has noticed this after returning to Groningen.
The 20-year-old from Halden made a name for himself in his first A-national match for Norway, and took good shots from various experts after the match.

Great attention in Holland
Haldenseren is back at his new club and considers the “emergency national team” to be a good experience. In Norway, the gang received enormous attention, but Strand Larsen has seen interest in the Netherlands as well.
– You realize that people in Europe have seen what we did and I received many congratulations when I got home. I was a bit surprised that they were so interested in him, so it’s clear that the A picks are high for everyone, no matter where you come from. I have been asked a lot how it was, he tells Nettavisen.
– How has it been to return to the club?
– I had a vacation two weeks before the meeting with the national team, so it was relatively heavy after the game. We met Tronstad and Vitesse only a few days later and got a decent result there. So it was good to start over.

He goes on to say that he had some time to think about the opportunities he had in the Austria match, but has decided to focus on the positive.
– It’s easy to think about the things you didn’t do, but I prefer to think that I did well at that level. I will always be upset about that opportunity, but I hope there is more. It’s strange, but I survive, he describes.
– Connection with God
Now the Groningen striker dreams of forming a forward pairing with his former teammate on the development team, Erling Braut Haaland, in the future.
– Erling and I have played a lot together, from the U16 to the U18 team and we had a very good connection. Then he was promoted and had his breakthrough. Clearly it would have been amazing to play him again, Strand Larsen tells Nettavisen.
– How inspiring is it to watch him play right now?
– He’s crazy. Yes, he plays for a good team, but if he wins 3-0, he has scored two or three of the goals.

Strand Larsen retired in the 86th minute against Austria, admitting that he was more happy to play with the flag on his chest.
– It is quite surprising how quickly things can change, so it is always important to be prepared. I am ready to be called again, but at the same time it is not something that I necessarily expect with the advice we have. Now the next meeting is a while away, so I have to do my part of the work to be relevant again, says the determined 20-year-old.
Do not regret the choice
The top talent is off to a good start at Dutchman’s Groningen, standing out with three goals and two assists in his first eight games. He himself believes that the choice he made was the right one.
– I think it was a very good choice. You have a lot of time to think about things, and I have probably come to the conclusion that Groningen is the right club for me. I feel confident that I will train and develop, and the club expresses that they have a lot of faith in me.
– How has Dutch football lived up to expectations?
– What has impressed me the most is the rhythm here. I was a bit surprised the first few weeks and noticed that I had to adjust a bit. You train better and understand football better, but at first it was difficult.
Strand Larsen played 82 minutes for Groningen on Sunday against Willem II, who finished 1-0 in favor of Groningen. Haldenseren left the field scoreless, but paved the way for his team.
