Offensive opening
Liverpool got off to the best start at the Etihad, and even before the minute was played, Jürgen Klopp’s four forwards with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and the fiery Diogo Jota had created problems for City.
Manchester City looked defenseless in the opening minutes, both offensively and defensively. Liverpool were completely superior early in the game, and it wasn’t long before the visitors’ dominance paid off.

He got the ball and did exactly that and played up to Gabriel Jesus. He maintained a twist that has been compared to the twists that Dennis Bergkamp and Romario used to enchant viewers with.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was duped, and Jesus passed the ball to compatriot Alisson after a City attack with 19 passes.

“After the second round, you have to say that Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, any of these teams can win the Premier League before Liverpool or Manchester City,” Savage told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Manchester City, meanwhile, is in eleventh place with its twelve points.
– We play at home and we have to win our games here. The result is not good for us. Maybe it’s good for them, Gabriel Jesus told Sky Sports after the game.
