A Christmas nativity scene from the Swedish company Star Trading has received a lot of unintended attention on social media in recent days. Report to Aftonbladet, who was the first to mention the case.
It is the placement of the lights on Joseph, Mary and the three wise men that people respond to. Candles can easily be misinterpreted as penises, which is not very lucky.
The candles are supposed to represent praying hands, but based on reactions on social media, few people interpret it that way.
On Twitter there are several who respond with humor. One user calls the Christmas manger a pedophile manger.

On the Instagram account of the Eko supermarket in Malmö, there is a follower who could never buy the chandelier.
– Sorry, but who wants a chandelier that looks like a bunch of guys with bets? It was not just me who reflected like this when I asked my colleagues if they wanted such a candlestick.
Star Trading CEO Christer Johansson tells Aftonbladet that he knows the attention the nativity scene has received and can understand why.
– The interpretation is in the eyes of the beholder. I can only say that we had serious intentions when we did. I even think it’s a nice chandelier. I don’t see that we hurt anyone, and we don’t want to take him off the range.
At the same time, Johansson believes that the Christmas crib should not be interpreted in that way and that they have received a lot of positive feedback from people.
