Tiril Eckhoff secured his 22nd World Cup victory when he won the sprint with a boom at Nove Mesto.
– Today was very hard and I spent a lot of time at the shooting range. But I’m very proud, because in the last shoot standing I spent time and turned down all the flashes, says the winner in the victory interview.
With the victory, she equaled both Liv Grete Skjelbreid and Laura Dahlmeier in number of victories.
– She crushes them all! This is a historic day, exclaimed NRK commentator Andreas Stabrun Smith as Eckhoff finished with a nearly ten-second lead over Julija Dzjyma of Ukraine.
Showed raw and strong form cross country
Eckhoff also had the best cross-country time, two seconds faster than his teammate Mars Olsbu Røiseland, and had an excellent final round.
– It is absolutely fantastic what he does here in the final round. Absolutely amazing race! Said expert Ola Lunde.
She herself explains that she thrives on the trails of Nove Mesto.
– I got some good seconds and I really like these trails. I tried to go as technically as possible and managed to win, he says.
The sprint victory makes Eckhoff the Norwegian biathlete with the most sprint victories of all time with 11 victories.
Dental violence with flawless shots
With a flawless shot, it seemed for a long time that Ingrid Tandrevold could prevail at the top, but with a bit of poor speed on the track, she finished in sixth place, just ahead of her teammate Røiseland in seventh place.
Røiseland missed twice on the first shot, but it was lightning fast on the field and contributed to a great effort from the Norwegian team.
