Liverpool have long been linked to Timo Werner, but Jürgen Klopp is not alone in admiring RB Leipzig’s top scorer.
However, Werner now excludes a move to Bayern Munich, which has been in contact with the forward for several seasons.
“If it were necessary to change clubs, I would rather go abroad than go to Bavaria,” says Timo Werner to German Bild.
Earlier this year Werner spoke to German sport1 that he sees Klopp as the best manager in the world and that he himself has a style that will adapt to Liverpool.
for Viaplay Werner spoke about the Liverpool liaison that makes him proud.
“The challenge of playing in another league is something that motivates me more than going to another club in the Bundesliga,” he said in Bild’s recent interview.

Crisis may deny Liverpool purchases
Werner has scored 27 goals this season and delivered twelve goals in 36 games in all tournaments for RB Leipzig. Only Bayern Munich super forward Robert Lewandowski has scored several goals in the Bundesliga.
But Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp may face a problem in finding Werner, because according to David Maddock in the Daily Mirror, the Corona crisis means the Reds can’t afford to buy players this summer. Champions League champions should have been interested in buying both Werner and Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
According to Timo Werner Bild have a purchase clause somewhere between NOK 630 and 688 million. TV 2 soccer expert Simen Stamsø-Møller thinks so
It is difficult to find a better player at that price. Werner could be one of the best strikers in the world, Stamsø-Møller said earlier this year.
Werner has flourished at RB Leipzig after moving from Stuttgart in 2016.
– Only three clubs can buy players
Damien Comolli, a former sports director for Tottenham and Liverpool, told Sky Sports in April that only three unidentified Premier League clubs could pay players when the transfer window opens this summer.
– We could see barter and loan transfers. I think we are going to see a sharp decrease in transition amounts and activity, at least in transitions involving money, Damien Comolli said.
It is still uncertain when the Premier League can be restarted. Both June 8 and 12 have been mentioned as possible dates. The 20 clubs had a video meeting on Friday, and all the clubs still agree that the season will be played.
Next week expects another meeting between the clubs.
From the major leagues, the Bundesliga appears to be close to resuming the season. There has been a frequent mention there on May 16.
