British Tom Moore served in Burma and India during World War II, and worked for a long time in the British Army later.
But most famously, it has become walking in your own garden.
For Moore, a goal was to raise 13,000 Norwegian kroner for the British healthcare system, going a hundred rounds in his own garden in Befordshire.
But the project received tremendous attention and the money was invested.

Thursday will be 100 years old. According to the BBC, the war veteran will spend the day at home with his daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore and his family.
But the day will not go unnoticed.
Now, “everything” in the UK is honoring Tom Moore for his efforts in the country’s health workers.
Among other things, the British defense marked the day a Spitfire and a Hurricane fighter jet that flew over his home. The flight was broadcast live on television to keep large crowds from gathering.
Becoming an honorable colonel
Moore, who previously held the title of Captain in the British Army, has also been appointed colonel, which is signed by the Queen herself.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace calls Moore an inspiration.
He has stated, among other things, that Moore is the embodiment of Britain’s proud veterans community.

To commemorate Moore’s birthday, he has also been honored with his own postmark.
All letters sent Monday through Thursday this week have been stamped.
Additionally, Moore has received a wealth of greetings and birthday cards. In fact, many are kept in a SAL at Bedford SCHOOL.
Over 125,000 birthday cards have been created for 100 years at the school.
The Queen has also sent a birthday card to Moore, writes the BBC.

The war veteran has also topped the charts with his own version of “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” which he recorded with singer-actor Michael Ball and a choir with members of the NHS public health system.
The British have found various ways to pay tribute to the war hero.
It also has, among other things, a train that bears his name.
Even Moore has repeatedly shown great humility in response to the response he received to his fundraising campaign.
“It is fantastic for our doctors and nurses on the front line,” he said after completing his 100 laps in the yard.
