Chairman Terje Rød-Larsen of the IPI think tank admits to borrowing money from the abuser Jeffrey Epstein, but denies that he had anything to do with the think tank.

Norwegian top diplomat Rød-Larsen writes in a letter to his followers that he regrets having borrowed money from billionaire Epstein, writes Dagens Næringsliv.

– I realize that it was a serious error of judgment on my part to participate in a personal financial relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and I regret it with all my heart, he writes in the letter.

Rød-Larsen has been repeatedly asked in the past to clarify his connections to the now-deceased billionaire, without giving clear answers.

Last week, the Foreign Ministry asked Rød-Larsen for more clarity on the connections between the two. Over the years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has donated more than NOK 130 million to the IPI think tank, led by Rød-Larsen.

On Wednesday, DN wrote that Rød-Larsen owed Epstein $ 130,000 at one point, and that he later gave the green light to a $ 100,000 payment from the think tank to Epstein.

It is not clear why he owed him the money.

Epstein was found dead in a New York jail cell in August. Forensic scientists have concluded that he took his own life. He had several famous and powerful friends in the United States and Great Britain and was charged with human trafficking and abuse of various girls and women.
