The man in his 50s, who has won several Norwegian championships, was misled by the police and received 60 kilos of “hashish steak.” Now he has to go to jail.
In December 2017, the sports profile appeared in a parking lot at the Bøler center in Oslo. There they handed him two boxes of what he thought was 60 kilos of hashish.
But the man who delivered the drugs was an undercover cop. And the hashish in the boxes had been replaced by so-called “meat hashish”, according to the verdict of the Oslo District Court.
The sporty profile drove home and carried the two boxes. When he was going out again that night, he was arrested by the police.
The search revealed that the sports profile – in addition to the “hash steak” he had received – stored another 37 kilos of hash in his home, according to the verdict.

I wanted money for Christmas
“The reason he took on the task was that he thought it would be nice to earn an extra ‘cushion’ with money before Christmas.”says in the ruling of the Oslo District Court.
The sports profile has put the cards on the table and has admitted to both attempts at receiving hash and storing hash.
In court, he explained that he did not suspect it was a policeman he met in the center of Bøler on the night of December almost three years ago.
The Oslo District Court sentenced the sports profile to prison for one year and ten months.
He received a penalty discount due to the lengthy processing of the case, as well as the fact that the 37 kilos of hashish in his home was of poor quality, which the court believes reduces the potential for harm.

A total of 180 kilos of hashish
The sports profile advocate, attorney Ann Turid Bugge, thought he should be acquitted of the 60kg “hash steak” matter.
The defense lawyer considered that the police had used an illegal provocation, but it was not confirmed in court.
The defender writes in an SMS to VG that she has just received the verdict.
– I have no comment at the moment, Bugge writes.
The hashish case emerged as a result of the Oslo police effort, dubbed Operation Gamma, against the Young Bloods and other criminal networks in the southeastern districts of the capital.
In total, the case concerns 180 kilos of hashish. Two men have been convicted of this total amount.

Cooperation penalty discount
One of them received a 50 percent penalty discount because he had cooperated with the police, which led to the case growing in size, as well as giving the police access to investigate other cases.
“He has not done so without risk of retaliation”he says at trial.
The man who cooperated with the police was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
The other convict must be in prison for four years and six months.
In addition, a third man was sentenced to a shorter prison term for curing nearly 80,000 crowns and possessing a small amount of drugs.
The other prisoners are men in their 20s and 30s.
