After a highly advantageous start to the season, United have lined up four consecutive triples in the Premier League. On Saturday night, the club is chasing its fifth in town against Manchester City.
The entrance there could have been better for Solskjær. In the middle of the week, the red dress stumbled ugly in the Champions League. They only needed a draw against RB Leipzig in Germany, but they lost 2-3 and were sold out in the group stage.
Despite the European crisis, Solskjær strongly believes in his own team.
– At Manchester United, you must always play to win trophies. In the last three seasons, of course, there have been two teams that have been way ahead of everyone else, says Christian amazement and refers to Liverpool and Manchester City.
– I have gained faith during the season. In fact, I’ve had it since the turn of the year, because this is a team that is progressing. I think we can challenge, says Solskjær further.
Bad house shape
It assumes that Team United will continue to develop in the right direction in the weeks and months to come.
– I don’t think there is a team that takes it (league title). In every game I will win. If you win every match, you end up with a trophy.
Ahead of this weekend’s round, Manchester United are five points behind Tottenham, the leader of the table, but have played a game less than the Whites in London.
If there’s one place in particular where Solskjær’s men have to get up, it’s at home at Old Trafford. There, United have only won one league game this season, coming after a narrow 1-0 win over late West Bromwich.
The other four home games in the league have ended with a draw and three losses. The form is exactly the opposite on the road, where United have won all five Premier League games so far.
