The late Michael Jackson’s Neverland estate in Santa Barbara, California has been sold.
The world-famous property went for $ 22 million to billionaire Ron Burkle, writes BBC.
The price implies a significant discount after the property was first listed for sale in 2015. At the time, the asking price was $ 100 million, more than 870 million crowns at today’s price. Last year the price was lowered to $ 31 million, but the property has yet to be sold and was later pulled from the market, NTB writes.
Sycamore Valley Ranch, which Michael Jackson bought in 1987 and made Peter Pan his empire, was more than a home. The 11,000 acre parcel exhibited the pop icon’s desire to recreate a childhood he had never had.

Jackson turned the property into an amusement park. There he also wrote some of his famous songs. But Neverland also became known as the place where Jackson was accused of abusing young children. After Jackson’s death in 2009, Neverland changed its name to Sycamore Valley Ranch.
Burkle is a businessman from Montana. He has invested in various industries, from grocery stores to the entertainment industry. Burkle was a former Jackson business consultant.
