Martin Ødegaard managed just over 25 minutes on the pitch with Real Madrid on Saturday. The great Spanish club lost 1-2 in a frustrating home game against Alavés.
The defeat is a serious blow for Real, which is losing ground to the best teams. Even the leader of the League, Real Sociedad, there are now six points, and Atlético de Madrid can be nine points behind with a victory in their hanging match.
The Real stars came under heavy pressure from Alavés on Saturday. The guests arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu with a perfect battle plan, where it was clear that they would never give space to the Real’s star gallery to unfold.

– We fight, we try, as we must. They entered the game better than us and got their goal. We had a lot of chances after that. I don’t think it’s about concentration or attitude, we gave it our all on the pitch. These are important points that we are missing here today, Casemiro said in an interview that was shown on Strive.

New hazard injury
Real players screamed at penalty kicks several times after failing in the first half, but each time they were quickly dismissed by the referee.

Only in minute 79 came the redeeming goal when Valencian Toni Lato put the ball into his own goal after a cross from Yannick Carrasco. The ball went into Lato’s leg and into the goal through the post.
– Luck is also something that sometimes compensates for something. It is always difficult to play here, so we are happy with the victory, said Carrasco.
Atlético are the only undefeated team in the league and have not lost in the series in 25 games. On Tuesday awaits a decisive match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
