Johannes Thingnes Bø fought Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson in the last shootout of the men’s relay, but lost the duel.
– Losing to Sebastian is good, but the way he lost … it was purely sporting a bad achievement. An extra ass shooter that he just threw. It’s a sick and provocative sport when said like that, Thingnes Bø tells SVT.
Both Thingnes Bø and Samuelsson fired two booms in the first five shots, and the Swede was about to spoil it with loading problems.
Thingnes Bø exploded sideways and never managed to get the last flash down. Plus, he struggled to get the extra shots.
– It is more sour when it is a young and promising Swede who takes it, he continues.
With up to four booms, he had to do it in the penalty round after the last shootout of the men’s relay in Hochfilzen.
Despite having good skis and decent cross-country form, the distance became too great, and Norway came in second with Sweden ahead of him.
– It’s pretty cool. A dream situation for me to go together with Norway and Johannes, says “Sebbe” to SVT.
Changed first
Sturla Holm Lægreid opened in familiar style with five horizontal shots, but had to use extra shots on the vertical shot.
– Not good enough, but I switched first and I must be happy with that, he tells SVT.
Johannes Dale was up high after his first World Cup winner in Friday’s sprint, but had more trouble in the stands in today’s relay.
However, he managed to avoid the penalty shoot-out round and a masterful final round meant he took a full 23 seconds on the field up front.

It started to shake
Tarjei Bø completed a stable stage despite two standing barriers.
– The legs began to shake. It will be a tough fight with Sweden, I tried to get a hatch, he tells SVT.
He sent younger brother Johannes Thingnes Bø as first man, with Swede Sebastian Samuelsson right behind.
At the same time, they were on the mat for the horizontal shot, but Thingnes Bø had to use an extra shot and came out from behind.
On the track, however, there was no question who was the best shooter and the Norwegian biathletes crushed everyone on the track.
But it didn’t quite hold up.
