– Shows that there is hope in the world – NRK Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

– It has been very moving to see that so many have taken the time to regret that this could happen in 2020. It is everything from football people to ordinary people who have made contact, KBK player Amahl Pellegrino tells NRK.

He has received massive support after Aalesund supporters started yelling “monkey” at him after Sunday’s game.

People have contacted Pellegrino from Italy, England and Spain to tell them that racism belongs nowhere.

– Show that there is hope in the world. As long as the next generation can live a slightly better life than the current one, I am happy.

The Ålesund club has also been in regular contact with Pellegrino after the incident. He says that he has lived the dialogue with the club in an orderly manner.

– It seems like a promising gang that doesn’t want to have this in the arena of their club and in everyday life in general.

– It also happens in Norway

This is not the first time that Pellegrino has experienced racism.

– Many years ago, so I had forgotten how brutal it can be, he says and adds:

– I have several foreign friends who experience this quite frequently, so everyday life is not as pleasant as it should be.

Pellegrino says Norway has realized that it is not only in the United States that racism still exists.

– It’s something that people have been trying to say for quite some time, but maybe people will open their eyes now.

Aalesund manager Geir Vik says the club has worked hard to find those behind the remarks.

– We have been working on the case all day and we take it very seriously. We have zero tolerance for racism and we try to get to the bottom to be able to sanction those who have made such statements.

The club also has a dialogue with the two different fan groups in the stadium and others who may be associated with the situation.

– We will continue to clarify the situation, says Vik.

Blir i KBK

On Monday night, Pellegrino confirms to NRK that he will remain with KBK for the remainder of the season. Therefore, speculation about a club change in this round is put to an end.

– Of course I hope something will happen after the season, but in this window I have said no to everything that has come so far.
