See what Tesla has taken: this is eye-catching

[ad_1]

After almost ten years on the market, the Tesla Model S has had a long life. But this year a new edition finally arrives. However, Tesla does things his way. The basic exterior design is more or less exactly the same as the current model.

We’re just talking about minor adjustments to the bumpers here, there are new wheels, and the door handles, strips around the windows, and other details go from chrome to black. That is exactly what many will appreciate.

But on the inside, top manager Elon Musk has made sure great things happen.

The difference that has received the most attention is, of course, the “steering wheel.” It is no longer a traditional steering wheel. The top is gone, so it looks more like the controls on an airplane.

Legal?

Whether this will be legal at all, so far no one can say for sure. Basically, it will probably be difficult. It is not only Tesla who has tested this solution. But every time such a flyer appears, you put your thumb down and have to calm down with the traditional “kringla”.

But as we know Tesla, it just might have an ace up its sleeve, making them the first automaker to be allowed to use such a steering wheel.

However, this case is not so much about this steering wheel, but about what is missing in the steering column. If you look at the pictures, you will notice that the shift lever, turn signal lever, and windshield wiper lever are missing. The latter is perhaps not so surprising, the other two, on the other hand.

Now it is more expensive to charge Tesla

Guess

Perhaps there is a greater chance that this actually carries over to cars that are delivered to customers. Unlike the steering wheel, there are few laws and regulations on how far you should have a gear stick or a lever for turn signals. The explanation is probably quite simple that it has been more or less unthinkable that this should be removed.

If Tesla is allowed to do what it wants, the car will take care of it.

The system is based on, and this may not be particularly reassuring: Guess!

Activate the turn signals itself

Yes, you read that right. And it is Musk himself who uses exactly this term. For example, the car guesses where to drive and then activates the turn signals. If you use navigation, of course it is pretty obvious. But if not, it suddenly becomes more, shall we say interesting?

But based on speed, navigation, other traffic / objects on the road, the car must be able to do it. Here’s how Musk explains it in his own words:

“The car guesses the driving direction based on the obstacles it sees, the context and the navigation map.”

Can be overridden

That certainly sounds a bit risky. But the Tesla boss goes on to emphasize that you can actually override the car’s “guess” using the controls on the touchscreen. So here we are talking about the big 17 “screen that sits on the dash.

The “guessing game” continues when it comes to team selection. Tesla has so far used the Mercedes gear stick, which is attached to the steering column. But this too must be removed.

The solution? You guessed it – the car guesses what equipment you need and whether it should be parked.

Annoying

But here too there is likely to be a gear selector available on the display, as a “backup solution”.

To tell the truth, we can never say that we have thought about how tiring it is to start the car. But Musk has already tested the system on new cars, and his conclusion is not surprisingly clear:

– After driving without using the gear stick for a few days, it’s very annoying to have to go back, he says on Twitter.

The plan is that the main dashboard screen will also contain

Impressive reach and kick

If we look at the Model S and Model X, there are several things that are likely to make a small impact on the competitors. The range is now up to 837 kilometers.

The performance is almost at the limit of what is physically possible. We are talking about 0-100 km / h in less than 2.1 seconds in the top model Model S Plaid +.

There are hardly any cars in the world that can do it. And now Tesla will deliver that kind of performance in a car with a large trunk, room for the whole family, and opportunities to make fake dance sounds.
