On Saturday October 31, it was announced that “James Bond” actor Sean Connery had died, he was 90 years old.
The death was confirmed, among others, by his son Jason Connery (57), who has followed in his father’s footsteps. At the same time, he was able to tell that his father had been battling a prolonged illness.
Seductive to the end
– We all have a hard time understanding this great event, because it happened very recently, despite the fact that my father has been ill for a long time. A sad day for everyone who knew and loved my father, and a sad loss for all the people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor, he told the BBC.
Died peacefully
However, it has not been known what type of disease it was. Now his wife Micheline Roquebrune (91) says he suffered from dementia, a chronic disease.
– There was no life for him. Lately he has not been able to express himself. At least he died in his sleep, and it was so peaceful. I was with him the whole time and he just ran away. That was what he wanted, he tells the Daily Mail.
– He had dementia and required a lot of him. His last wish was fulfilled by slipping away without any problem.
Roquebrune is a Moroccan-French painter who met her Scottish husband in 1970, at a golf tournament in Morocco. The couple married in 1975 and thus were married for 45 years. However, they had no children together. Son Jason has Connery from his first marriage to Diane Cilento. He died in 2011.
– It was beautiful and we had a wonderful life together. He was a role model for a man. It’s going to be very difficult without him, I know. But it couldn’t last forever, and it left in peace, Rouquebrune continues.
