Kristiansund’s player Flamur Kastrati (28) has been quarantined for four games for insults against Vålerenga coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo. Sandnes player Ulf Johannes Hummelvoll-Nunez (23) has also been quarantined.

– I said that I accept it without doing anything else about it. There is nothing more to say about it, says Flamur Kastrati to VG after hearing the verdict of the disciplinary committee of the Norwegian Football Association.

After observing the incident and hearing explanations from the parties and the club, the committee decided that a four-match penalty is appropriate for the Kristiansund player.

Kastrati called VIF coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo a “bloody street sweeper.” After the game he apologized and then went to bed. The 28-year-old has always claimed that he did not know the meaning of the word “street sweeper.”

For that statement, Kastrati was supported by Sandnes Ulf player Johannes Hummelvoll-Nunez. He took to Twitter and admitted that he had also called an opponent in Åsane during an Obosliga match in early October.

Based on the message from Twitter, the Norwegian Football Association took action and asked the disciplinary committee to also consider the admission of Sandnes Ulf’s player. Now it gives him a three-game ban.

– I had hoped that honesty would last longer, as it would not have been a problem if I had kept my mouth shut, but of course I will accept the punishment that has been imposed on me. I must add that the understanding and forgiveness I have received from various homosexuals has made my life easier, writes Hummelvoll-Nunez in a text message to VG on Friday night.

Signal effect weight

– How do you think your experimental support for Kastrati and clarification around the term ends with this punishment?

– Think it is so. I saw that everyone crucified Kastrati and cut his throat, without anyone really thinking about what he was doing. Actually, it doesn’t seem like he deserved it. So he wanted to give a new light to the case and has received the support of many footballers, who also had the same perception of the word that we do, says the left winger, who has been on the field in 21 of the 23 games in the Obosligaen this year.

The leader of the disciplinary committee at NFF, Andreas Holmsen-Ringstad, tells VG that the recommendation of the prosecution committee was three quarantined matches for Kastrati and two for Hummelvoll-Nunez, but that they landed in one more match for both.

– The reason for this is that the emphasis has been placed on preventive considerations and the signal effect of reacting to such statements, says Holmsen-Ringstad.

They have also considered Kastrati’s claim that he did not know what “sweeping” really meant:

– The disciplinary committee cannot rule out that in the environment in which Kastrati has generally grown up there has been an understanding that the term in question has meant something in the direction of “idiot” or “nonsense”, and that therefore so much has had no reason to believe anything. otherwise, the football association explains in a press release.

The Kristiansund forward was informed of the verdict on Friday afternoon.

Therefore, it must be in charge of the Kristiansund-Bodø / Glimt, Molde-Kristiansund, Kristiansund-Mjøndalen and Kristiansund-Strømsgodset parties. Only in round 27, on December 5, will KBK be able to use Kastrati again.

– Now I’m going to train to return as a firework. That’s my next goal, to train hard and help the guys get a player who is motivated and gives a lot of himself and energy to the team. It will be my role in the coming weeks, says Kastrati.

The apology gave a mitigating punishment

While Sandnes Ulf, who in the well-known “Obosliga style” can fight both relegation and promotion playoffs in the last seven games of the season, Johannes Hummelvoll-Nunez loses to Ull / Kisa, Stjørdals-Blink and Kongsvinger.

– The case has already been processed by NFF. We hope that the player understands the consequences of his statements. We are diligently working on attitude building work at the club and will continue to focus on it going forward, says general manager Tom Rune Espedal in a press release on the Sandnes Ulf website.

Holmsen-Ringstad on NFF confirms that the penalty for a “normal case” would have resulted in five quarantined games, but that both have received mitigating penalties due to apologies from players and clubs.

Both penalties are more severe than those received by current Royal Antwerp player Simen Juklerød when he, as a Bærum player, called an opponent “gay” in 2015. He was given a direct red card and a two-match penalty.

– Have you emphasized that verdict, and why are these two cases punished more severely?

– We have looked at the case since 2015, but it is not given much weight, no. First, it was five years ago, and second, the quarantine-related guidelines for statements that can be considered discriminatory or offensive have changed since then, Holmsen-Ringstad says.
