Romerikes Blad – NHO Against Johansen’s Christmas Table Declaration

– Earlier this week, the Prime Minister encouraged companies to host Christmas dinners for their employees. I don’t think encouragement can be applied to Oslo as long as infection rates look the way they do now, city councilor Raymond Johansen stated at a press conference on the status of the crown in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

Kristin Krohn Devold, CEO of NHO Reiseliv, thinks he’s too strict.

– This is unnecessarily strict and we fear that your message will be misinterpreted. The employer should be able to take employees to a small-group Christmas dinner or lunch, he says.

Krohn Devold further notes that Johansen’s statement is contrary to what Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) said earlier this week.

– As Erna Solberg emphasizes, it is entirely possible to organize Christmas dinners for employees within safe infection control frameworks, also in the capital, she says.

Furthermore, the business organization claims that they have contacted the city council to develop an infection control guide for the Christmas season.
